More Clean Energy

Dear Governor Baker,

Massachusetts has enormous potential for renewable energy and energy efficiency. More local and renewable energy, including solar and offshore wind, is good for the air we breathe and for the climate as well as being good for the economy and for job growth. And of course the cheapest energy is the energy we don't use in the first place - energy efficiency saves towns and cities and homeowners money.

The renewable energy and energy efficiency industries  created almost 90,000 jobs in Massachusetts alone, and can continue to grow if we put it on a level playing field with dirty energy. That is why I am writing to encourage you to invest in a clean and growing industry rather than an outdated one that pollutes our air and water.

Massachusetts and New England are at an energy crossroads. We need to move towards the clean energy future - we the people want better air quality and a healthier environment for now and for generations to come, with more local clean energy and more efficient homes and buildings.

That is why we are asking you, our governor, to prioritize renewable sources like offshore winds and solar. It is up to you to lead us to a greener future.

Sincerely,
